This book - Scientology: Fundamentals Of Thought is excellent for beginners.                   SCIENTOLOGY AND THE INTERNET? The topic of Scientology and the Internet has been around for some time. One wonders why the subject will not go away. The Internet is the most spiritually advanced innovation in this world since the motor car. As a Scientologist can state categorically that the Internet is helping to bring about a world in communication with itself and this is a spiritual ambition of Scientology. When the Internet first made its appearance it was used by some as a new way to launch attacks on the Church of Scientology. Here we have the attacks of anonymous and other groups. But these, like all others will come to pass. Attacking religion is not new. Scientology is perhaps the most controversial group to hit the West since the Knights Templars of the 1100's. Many great religions have fallen in the West over the past two thousand years. There were the Gnostic and Hellene religions of Rome and Asia minor, which dealt with the knowledge of man. Then when they were gone similar religions sprung up like the Cathars, a Christian religion that spread over Europe and North Africa and to the Balkans, but believed in past lives. The Cathars were wiped, out and many murdered during the Inquisition. But history teaches us that it takes more to wipe out religions today. The Jews well survived the pogroms of Nazis Germany for example, even if six million perished under hellish conditions. Scientology cannot be compared to these to these larger noble faiths however, but the same techniques demonizing a faith are applied to us as were applied then. When the Internet was new,such demonizing was used. It is still used an some may have some trepidation about the Internet. But today, I, as a director of a Church of Scientology, I welcome this most fantastic advance in our culture since the motor car. The Internet is making this world more humane. Once media was used by the ruling class to dehumanize people, and people were not given a real choice to what they were presented to read. The traditional media was controlled by a select few and still is. But today the Internet is used to by almost everyone. Media is now a two-way flow of ideas. it allows us to answer back, chose what we want to read. It also allows us to communicate with other members of mankind almost immediately. For example I have right now a counterpart in Bangladesh sending me photos of his Scientology missions there. Another has posted on my wall of Face Book this morning from Nepal. Another sent me a message from Sumatra three days ago. These are all friends I have met over the years, in their country. The Internet is making it possible to stay in touch and for ideas to travel instantly. Nothing can kill an idea and the Internet is making this possible. For this reason alone the job of Scientology is being made so much easier. Scientology has as an aim, a world without war. The Internet is assisting this in a very positive manner. If one knows anything about Scientology, it is a knowledge about the laws of life and how to use them. I can tell you categorically that life will cease fighting when it gets into communication with itself and each other. The Internet is making this possible. And further, the more we communicate like this the more life gets better. And in Scientology you too can have your say. It is enshrined in the Creed of our Church. Your right to have your say is important. The Internet is allowing this to happen. It is the most positive thing to toward the expansion of all social betterment movements this world has ever seen. And that includes all religions, including mine.
