This book -
Scientology: The Fundamentals Of Thought
is excellent beginning book on Scientology.
Is atheism a belief system where the adherents have no evidence to
support their faith?
Saying God does not
exist
because of lack of evidence is like saying gravity does not exist
because you cannot see it. The same for life. Just because you cannot
see life does not mean it cannot exist. It does, but how can you
measure it. The same for God.
It seems
that some people are aware of that higher existence called God and some
are not.
I categorize it as levels of consciousness. The atheist is simply not
aware. it is not his "fault." it is just the way he is.
Human consciousness is a component or quality of life. A low level of
consciousness is only aware of its surroundings, maybe only what is
matter. Maybe a tree or plant falls into this category.
A higher level of consciousness may be able to see life as living and
distinct from matter. Maybe a dog or pet is here.
A higher level could be the awareness of being alive ourselves. Most
people reach this and realize they are alive. I would not say all do
however. An atheist seems above this level however.
The next highest would be when life is aware of its own awareness. This
is very very high. Not many people get this. Atheists can.
The source of consciousness of course is ourselves, unless you want to
name a higher life force that created the universe - such as
God. Perhaps an awareness of this higher infinite level of
life - God, could be classified as the highest level of consciousness.
But I am just guessing. But most certainly atheists are not at this
level.
Do not hate the atheist for at least he has a view of the cosmos and is
willing to express and share it. It is just that he has not evolved
into a
highest level. Nothing more.
